Sunamp Thermal Storage

Sunamp Thermal Storage

The transition to clean energy often faces a physical hurdle inside the home: space. Traditional hot water cylinders are bulky, difficult to place in modern apartments or retrofits, and lose significant heat over time. The Sunamp Thermino thermal storage battery replaces conventional water cylinders with a compact, high-efficiency system.

Core Technology & Operation

Instead of holding vast quantities of heated water, Sunamp uses a non-toxic, phase-change material (PCM) called Plentigrade. As the system charges, the PCM absorbs energy and melts. When hot water is called for, cold mains water runs through an internal heat exchanger, freezing the PCM back into a solid and instantly transferring stored heat to deliver high-pressure hot water on demand.

Ultra-Compact Footprint: Up to four times smaller than an equivalent hot water cylinder, Sunamp fits into tight utility cupboards or under stairs—making low-carbon upgrades viable in small homes or retrofits where space is constrained.

Minimal Standby Heat Loss: Thermino heat loss drops to as low as 0.48 kWh per day—up to four times lower than traditional hot water tanks—drastically reducing baseline energy waste.

Multi-Source Charging: Connects directly to solar PV arrays, heat pumps, boilers, or off-peak grid power. Integrated smart controls absorb surplus solar energy or cheap off-peak electricity to charge the battery for later use.

Hygiene and Maintenance: Because water isn't stored in a standing tank, the risk of Legionella bacteria is virtually eliminated. The solid-state design requires no mandatory annual servicing and comes with long-term reliability.

By replacing bulk with energy-dense material, Sunamp unlocks modern, high-efficiency hot water without sacrificing precious living space.
